Friends and marriage are separate worlds inside the app, and you choose which one you are in. Nothing you do in Friends touches your marriage profile, and nothing in marriage shows up here.

Same gender, by design
Sisters see sisters. Brothers see brothers. That is enforced in the data model, not left to good manners, so there is no setting to get wrong and nothing to opt out of.

Meet at something real
The fastest way to meet people is to turn up somewhere. Events near you are open to browse without an account, and the people you meet there are already local.

Sisters with sisters

In Friends your feed only ever shows women. That is enforced in the data model rather than by a preference, so there is no setting to get wrong and nothing to opt out of. Everyone you see submitted a photo ID that a person checked by hand and then deleted.

The same rule and the same verification. Turn up to football, a book club, a fundraiser or a halaqa near you, and the people you meet there are already local. Open to you whether you are married or not, and it never puts you in front of anyone searching for a spouse.

Yes, and it is enforced at the data layer rather than by a preference. Sisters are shown sisters and brothers are shown brothers. There is no toggle that mixes them, so it cannot be turned off by accident or by a bug in a filter. Learn more →
Yes. Friends is open to everyone regardless of marital status, and married members are a large part of why it exists. You will never appear in anyone's marriage search because of it.
No. They are separate worlds. Your photos, prompts and filters are per world, and switching between them changes what you see and who can see you. Someone in the marriage world cannot find you through Friends.
Not to browse. The events feed is open to anyone, so you can see what is on at masjids, MSAs and community groups in your city before you sign up. You need an account to RSVP or to host something yourself. Learn more →
Yes. Friends is free, browsing events is free, and hosting an event is free with no listing fee and no cut of any ticket sales.
